Jamia Syeda Hafsa is the largest institute for women in the Islamic world. It has an enrollment of more than 6000 female students. The foundation stone of the Madrassa was laid down by Maulana Abdullah Shaheed and now it is under supervision of Maulana Abdul Aziz. Jamia Syeda Hafsa has its branches in different parts of the city (Islamabad). Some of the branches are also in other cities like Mianwali and Taxila etc.

The foundation stone of Jamia syeda Hafsa was laid in 1992 by Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Shaheed (RahimahuAllah). At it first stage it was comprised of two rooms only. But by the passage of time it increased gradually. The Land of the madrassa was allotted by the CDA in the name of madrassa.
